The Starfall setting has less variety of creatures than a standard D&D setting - many of the creature types common in D&D simply don't exist. However, within the types that do exist, there are themes present.
Aberrations - These are often associated with the Alien supertype, being creatures either from the Dromite homeworld or otherwise introduced to the world of Starfall. Other Aberrations were created in genetics labs, either by corrupt Elan nobles or after the Starfall but before the total collapse of the technological society.
Animal - This will most likely be the most common type of creature encountered. The world of Starfall is the home of many species of animal, most of which are similar to creatures on Earth. Some, however, are huge, and some have minor latent magical or psionic abilities. For example, the giant armadillos of the Waste are resistant to magic.
Construct - All robots will have this type. Other creatures of the Construct type are magical and psionic constructs - in fact, all constructs are of one of the following subtypes: Robot (for technological constructs), Golem (for magical constructs), and Creation (for psionic constructs).
Dragon - Various creatures created through draconic magic exist on the world of Starfall, and these creatures carry the Dragon subtype.
Elemental - Elementals are rare, and are thought to be divine spirits awakened by the Starfall and inhabiting basic forces. The Stone God might have been a powerful elemental.
Fey - There are no known Fey on Starfall.
Giant - There are no known Giants on Starfall
Humanoid - The playable races are the only humanoids on Starfall.
Magical Beast - Rare and powerful, Magical Beasts are creatures whose essence is as much magical as corporeal. None can be killed by purely-physical means.
Monstrous Humanoid - There are no Monstrous Humanoids on Starfall.
Ooze - Some Oozes are Alien, while others are the products of radiation leaks after Starfall.
Outsider - There are no Outsiders on Starfall.
Plant - Carniverous, mobile plants have been rumored as existing in the Waste; however, the Kobolds and Cyborgs generally view them as just enough of a threat to attack them in force and wipe them out whenever they are heard of. Thus, they are not often seen near the Green Realms.
Undead - There are no Undead on Starfall.
Vermin - Great vermin are common in the Waste, and are often a great threat to the Kobold tribes. A swarm of giant ants or hornets can destroy entire civilizations.
